I just read the article titled "23-Year-Old Warsaw Woman's Death Linked To Methadone Overdose." This is one of the problems with the lack of knowledge concerning methadone and its use as a very good pain medication, as well as (as the National Institute of Health wrote), the Gold Standard of medicine in the treatment of opioid addiction by the general public.
You print no facts whatsoever of what the other drugs in the poly drug death of the lady who so tragically passed away. How are we to know that she had not taken a dose of methadone that had been prescribed to her at a Methadone clinic, or had taken her regular dose of methadone prescribed to her for pain, that she had been taking for years, and added to this Xanax, barbiturates, alcohol, etc., and these were the cause of death?
You print, "After completing an autopsy and subsequent toxicology testing and review, the death is considered an accidental overdose due to multiple drug toxicity, specifically Methadone." Why "specifically methadone"?
The family and friends of this young lady have my sincere grief. But this article was like it was written by a ninth-grade journalism student leaving out so many facts that one has to come to their own conclusions as to which of the poly drugs were the cause of death. Of course, "methadone-related deaths" sells papers so I can understand why this is all you printed.
