Prep Roundup: Manchester's Eichenauer Wins Medalist HonorsHUNTINGTON – Kelsey Eichenauer shot the best score of her prep golf career Wednesday, leading the Manchester Lady Squires to a third-place tie among 14 teams in the Huntington North Invite at Norwood Country Club.
Eichenauer shot 1-over 36 on the front nine and 3-over 39 on the back side.
Her round of 4-over included 14 pars, and bogeys on holes 2, 10, 16 and 17.
“Kelsey Eichenauer played an amazing round today, 75 for a career-low round,” said Manchester coach Josh Troyer. “She finally got a result to reflect the shots she is hitting this year. I’m so proud of her recovery from a rough finish yesterday. She earned and deserved this round today.
“I am also very proud of how our team stayed in the moment today. We have work to do to improve our game and get to where we want to be as a whole, but I know our girls will take this as a challenge and do the work to be where we want to be in September.”
As a team, Manchester carded a four-player score of 373, tying Concord for third place.
Sam Kissell shot 94 for the Lady Squires, while Cora Barnett fired a 100, Madyson Ulrey 104 and Alissa Bickerstaff 109.
Wawasee competed in the tournament and finished ninth at 412.
Belle Brunner led the Lady Warriors with a 90, while Jadison Rostochak shot 100, Valerie Haessig 105 and Tate Cowan and Ava Harker 116 and 117, respectively.
Homestead’s JV?team won the tournament with a score of 332, followed in the top five by Huntington North (346), Concord (373), Manchester (373) and Carroll (384).
Homestead’s Caitlin Kogulan was second individually, three strokes behind Eichenauer.
The Lady Squires are in action again today, hosting the Manchester Invite at Sycamore Golf Club.
