Political Ideology

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:

The following is based on my previous letters to the editor concerning the similarities and differences between Fascism and Communism. A third political and economic ideology, that of Democracy, will be added for the purposes of contrasting between the system of government way of life that we live under here in America versus the system of government/way of life that existed in past or present nations under fascist or communist rule.

Differences between Fascism, Communism and Democracy

I. Foreign Policy and International Relations:

Fascism - perpetual conflict between racist, heavily armed, fanatically pro-war, empire building nations who prey upon the weak and fight each other for their "fair share" of the planet and its resources and to fulfill their self-proclaimed destiny to rule over others; is both the desired and logical outcome of the fascist mentality in this particular category.

Communism - The original goal of the communist movement in this particular category was to spread itself like a virus over the whole planet transforming each country it overruns or infiltrates by eradicating the old order and its adherents and leaving in its place a supposed man-made heaven on Earth in the form of a globe-spanning federation of soviet republics.

Democracy - A democratic nation can follow the path of communism or fascism as outlined above. It can also favor one of many policies such as benevolent armed neutrality, becoming isolationist by attempting to totally seal its self off from the outside world, engaging in peaceful coexistence and cooperation with other nations of the world, or becoming part of a union of democratic nations
