Police Say Shooting Tied To Domestic Violence

Monday morning’s shooting in Warsaw appears to have been the result of domestic violence, according to new details released by law enforcement.

Jennifer Hollar, 35, of 331 N. Park Ave., Warsaw, is facing charges of aggravated battery, domestic battery and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.

Police responded to Hollar’s residence about 1 a.m. Monday and found Hollar and Jacqueline Lasuer standing over a 39-year-old male victim, who had a gunshot wound.

Lasuer, a family friend, had been called to the house by Hollar, and then had her fiance call police when she discovered the man had been shot.





Police found a Ruger 380 handgun and an empty shell casing on the floor.

Hollar had been living with the victim for about a year, charging documents state.

As police removed the women from the scene, one officer asked another if they had any possible suspects. Hollar said “that would be me,” according to court records

The victim told police Hollar had come home agitated and started punching him. After a brief separation, Hollar walked into a bedroom, came out with a gun and shot the victim in the abdomen, court records state.

The man was taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. The bullet had passed through his abdomen and lodged near the spine. He is believed to have non-life threatening injuries, according to an earlier news release.
