WINONA LAKE – An intoxicated man who claimed he had a gun was arrested after police alleged he attempted to rob a Winona Lake bank, according to a news release from the Winona Lake Police Department. Arturo Ortega-Paredes, 35, of 1202 Wooster Road, #35, Winona Lake, was charged with one count of robbery with a deadly weapon. Police allege Paredes entered the bank Thursday afternoon and stole a small amount money by telling the cashier he had a gun. Three minutes later, police took Paredes into custody without incident. Police say Paredes was intoxicated and he was checked out at a hospital before being booked in the Kosciusko County Jail. Bond was set at $20,250.
