NORTH MANCHESTER – Phyllis Jean Cox, 83, of North Manchester, died at 12:34 a.m. April 29, 2013, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was born April 10, 1930, in Wabash, to Meredith M. and Lillian Carol Miller Wood. On June 18, 1955, she married Charles J. “Joe” Cox, who died April 18, 1995. She was a homemaker and worked at General Tire, Wabash, for more than 30 years. Surviving are a son, William M. Cox (and Diana K. Shepherd), North Manchester; a brother, Danny (and spouse Nancy) Wood, Georgia; two sisters, Rita (and spouse David) Mueller, Dyer, and Patty (and spouse Jeff) Hopper, Denver; her stepmother, Mary Fawley, Wabash; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia. Calling is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
