I’m not one to respond to other contributor letters, but I just can’t ignore the paid-for-space comment I read in the 10-17-2025 edition of the Times-Union. It would appear there are more members to this left-wing cabal than I thought. I just can’t get over the, school teacher, critique of other people’s letters to the paper! I had thought it was just our colleague, Ms. Schulz, but apparently she really does have “friends” at Winona Lake.
I’d like to clear up this confusion about ANTIFA. The ANTIFA organization was formed in 1928 in western Europe. They were trying to stop the spread of Fascism in Europe, hence the name ANTIFA. The fascinating thing was ANTIFA were basically made up of Communist, Socialist and Christian workers. They were largely made up of wealthy intellectuals, academics and professors. Their resistance failed in the thirties, bringing rise to Benito Mussolini and Adolf Hitler. However, the ANTIFA organization fled to the western hemisphere to plant their Marxist ideology into our institutions of higher education as well as to our neighbor ... South America.
Fast forward to today and ANTIFA still exists only they’ve become a loose knit organization of anarchists and nihilists. They are “rioters for hire” who are paid to foment violence into normal protest. They were active in 2020 during the George Floyd riots, successfully setting fire to several cities causing more than 3 billion dollars in damage and 12 deaths, and are active today shutting down conservative speech at universities and presently against ICE. They are financed by the Democrat network of PACs and far left billionaires, the likes of George Soros. It’s not surprising that when the Trump administration starts to cut funding to ridiculous foreign aid programs as well as other EPA “climate change” endeavors, the Democrats are squealing like little pigs. Their clutches on taxpayer dollars through bogus programs is coming to an end.
The left’s dark money financing of a violent group to confront federal agencies in the performance of their law enforcement duties is a slap in the face to all law-biding citizens. The removal of all criminals is essential to the pursuit of happiness of all Americans. The Democrats opened up our borders to allow as many aliens into our country as possible in an attempt to replace a minority voting block that grew weary of their antics and lies. The present administration realizes that this unauthorized invasion of our country has already caused lower wages, and an unprecedented spike in criminal acts against our citizens.
I recommend that the liberals from Winona and the broader Democrat Party be careful of who they hire for their chaos and political resistance ... they may not like you either.
