A presidency shrouded in lies, deceit, distortion and deception. One has to wonder if Obama can remember the last time he was truthful.
He promised his way into the White House, having no real idea of the magnitude of the job ahead of him. He yearned for the glory and the world stage. But the heavy lifting of leadership bores him. And it was glaringly apparent when, once again, Bill Clinton glowed in the lights of the cameras while doing Barack Obama's job of trying to drag the Bush tax cuts across the finish line.
Obama couldn't concern himself as he had to meet The First Lady for a Christmas party. What a magnificent gesture in making yourself insignificant as a leader. Good old Bubba stole the show while Obama shot himself in the foot.
It's difficult to set aside the total destruction this president has done to this country. But, if you can look past it, the Obama Presidency may have taught America a valuable lesson. In 2012, it's going to take more than a swagger and a smile. Qualifications and competence do matter. Background and prior associations do matter. And the next time around, if the likes of a Jeremiah Wright or a Bill Ayres show up on the radar, this country had better head for the exits.
Maybe the next presidential candidate won't be as magical. Maybe the oratory won't be as flawless. But, we've seen the magic and we definitely have heard the rhetoric and it hasn't worked any better than "hope and change".
It would be in this country's best interest to make certain that the next candidate cares about America first, truly believes in American values, and has done something in life other than teach civil unrest and chaos for a sleazy organization called ACORN.
