Editor, Times-Union:
Hey. it’s me again. I’m coming to you from Beautiful Parent Drive Local Speedway. We had a little relief from speeders during the time the speed check sign was up, but immediately after it was removed the habitual speeders returned to practicing their old fast driving skills again.
It is not uncommon to observe a car whizzing by my house at 40 to 50 miles per hour. We have 25 mph signs on both ends of Parent Drive but apparently some people appear to have either a reading problem or deficit attention problem as signs are completely ignored.
Apparently, no one knows how to solve this long unsolved problem. One suggestion I have made and no doubt others have also made, is to have an unmarked police car in the area with a radar gun checking speeds.
Well now, that I have spouted off about this problem for the umpteenth time, I feel better.
