Optimist Club Announces Winners Of Car Show

The Warsaw Optimist Club had its eighth annual City of Lakes Car Show & Cruise recently in downtown Warsaw.

One hundred sixteen vehicles registered for the event, which raised over $12,000 for over 100 activities and programs for youth in the county.

The rain-shortened event led to the cancellation of the performance of the Lakes Area Community Band and the awards ceremony.

The winners in the six classes of cars and trucks were as follows:

Pre-1950: Carl Bligh, Wabash; Butch Randolph, Greentown; Bill Collins, Somerset; Cathy and Crist Blassaras, Syracuse; and Marvin Galbreath, Syracuse.

1950-1966: Dean and Marta Klotz, Warsaw; Roy Hauth, Warsaw; Nerva Kraus, Union Mills; Robert Mason, Avon; Steve Estep, Wabash; Larry and Linda Riley, Warsaw; Greg Miller, Warsaw; John and Cheryl Lacheta, Warsaw; Dick Coppes, Atwood; and Lou Bradshaw, Fort Wayne.

1967-1980: Jay Jacobs, Warsaw; Mark Hollar, Cromwell; Dave Sloan, Warsaw; Jennie Smeltzer, Middlebury; Dan Drabenstott, North Webster; Randy Kirby, Fort Wayne; Allen Robinson, Warsaw; Chuck and Tanya Karnsch; Orville Owens, Winona Lake; Larry Case, Warsaw; and Jack Wilhite, Warsaw.
