I would like to know if any of your readers were offended by Miner Lemon & Walston's ad on page 8A of the April 12th weekend edition?

After living here for 15 years, I have come to learn of the facade put on by certain people who live in the area. They want outsiders to believe this is a forgiving, non-judgmental, Christian community. I have often found the opposite to be true.

The picture of the young man with tattoos and piercings, along with the characterizations, would lead one to believe that all people who look like this are jobless, drug addicted cult members. My son has tattoos and piercings. He is a junior at a prestigious university, majoring in behavioral psychology with a 3.7 grade point average and is gainfully employed. Many of his friends have tattoos and piercings, and are just as successful. Is it any wonder why young adults have a problem with society when society judges them solely on their appearance?
