I?spent nine years drinking and I am working on 25 years of sobriety. I also have five friends that are dead because of alcohol.
Alcohol destroys lives, families, marriages, friendships, relationships, and peoples’ health and careers. It always takes and never gives. Nothing good ever comes from it. It is a big waste of money. It is a poison, a drug, an addiction and a killer.
The first thing to go after a person has been drinking is their common sense. Because of drinking, people do things that they later regret doing, or they do things they forget doing. Drinking alcohol makes a person poor.
According to the CDC, 88,000 people die a year from alcohol. MADD has stated that 28 people die a day from alcohol-related crashes, which equals 10,220 people a year. All lives matter! Alcohol has never done anyone any favors.
Alcohol has affected every family in the world one way or another. The alcohol industry doesn’t care if a person lives or dies or gets hooked on their product. All they care about is getting rich, padding their pockets and getting their poison out the door. When is big alcohol going to be held accountable for all the deaths and mayhem that their poison has caused in families and people?
“Wine is a mocker, beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise.” (Proverbs 20:1)
“Woe to those who rise early in the morning to run after their drinks, who stay up late at night till they are inflamed with wine. They have harps and lyres at their banquets, tambourines and flutes and wine, but they have no regard for the deeds of the Lord, no respect for the works of His hands.” (Isaiah 5:11-12)
“Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat, for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags.” (Proverbs 23:20-21)
