Editor, Times-Union:
Did the fair board find a time machine somewhere, because racing is back. The problem is we can no longer live in the past. In the past we didn’t worry about noise pollution, now we do.
I wonder how many DWIs were there after the races in the past. Do we really need more drunk drivers again? In the past anything goes, now we sue at a drop of a hat.
Does anyone really want a racetrack in their back yard? Since the fair board hasn’t built any barricades, I wonder how much trash gets blown into Winona Lake. When dealing with cars, trucks, racing and tractor pulls, we have oil and gas leaks on the ground and soil. I wonder if the ground has been contaminated. Maybe the Indiana Department of Environmental Management should check the soil.
Boy, I am glad I?don’t live in the past.
