Not For Benyouski

Posted
Editor Time-Union:

I find myself in a position with the need rather than desire to write this letter. It has been brought to my attention by others that Shari Benyousky has used my picture in her campaign material.

On Oct. 6 in the Times-Union News Views article her campaign was given, what I believe was, an unintended boost by pointing out her ad on the Times-Union website, the one with my picture.

She has stated many times that she has spoken and received support from Republicans.

Another candidate on the Republican ticket has very publicly endorsed her.

For most people this may not seem to be a big deal, however, due to these three things I must remove doubt from voters’ minds.

I do not support this ticket!

During last Thursday’s township board meeting Ms. Benyousky asked questions about the trustee’s surplus. I thought the board president did a fine job explaining how the surplus was obtained, and how it would be spent down. One was the negotiation of emergency services which saved nearly $200,000 a year. Another event, which is happening nationwide, is our booming economy. Help wanted signs are everywhere. Unemployment is at 3.7 percent. This great economy translates down to the very level of the trustee. How? Help requested of the trustee’s office has been cut in half! That translates into less money going out.

What I saw in the meeting from Democrat candidates was their desire to spend the surplus, to find someplace to use it. They actually called on the current board to maintain the tax levy at its current level so it would be available to them. Instead the current board is currently planning to lower the rate 30 percent to a reasonable size.

We have a great group of people who will be responsive to needs and responsible to taxpayers.

Jeanine Stackhouse has been working in the trustee’s office for eight years.

Gordon Nash has been on the trustee board over seven years.

Josh Spangle has been the trustee of Monroe Township.

They know the positions and have worked them. They know the laws governing what the trustee’s office can and cannot do. They will not be learning while on the job.

I’ve heard the other side say they want to shake things up, go against the status quo and grow government. I say if it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

Please vote Stackhouse, Nash and Spangle for Trustee and board this year!
