BOURBON - Norma Jean Metheny, 82, peacefully entered into her eternal rest at 7:30 p.m. June 29, 2008, in her residence with her family at her side. She was in failing health for the past few years.
She was born June 1, 1926, in Laud, to Howard and Olive Linn Hudson. On Dec. 9, 1951, she married Carl Metheny, who survives.
An area resident most of her life, she was a bookkeeper at Mentone Co-op and later at Metheny Elevator, Bourbon. She was a Mentone High School graduate and a faithful member of Bremen Missionary Church.
Also surviving are her two children, Diane Horn Metheny and David (and spouse Lori) Metheny, all of Bourbon; two grandchildren, Taylor and Tarann Metheny, both of Bourbon; a sister, Patricia Gross, Warsaw; two brothers, Donald (and spouse Betty) Hudson, Etna Green, and Dale (and spouse Barbara) Hudson, Warsaw; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Hudson, Claypool. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Kenneth.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon, with the Rev. Gary Hinkle officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon.
