Nolene Compton, 60, of Winona Lake, died at 4:23 p.m. Nov. 26, 2007, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
She was born Oct. 26, 1947, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Andy and Susie Stephens Shepherd. On Jan. 21, 1966, in Warsaw, she married William "Bill" Compton, who survives.
She was a homemaker and attended Free Will Baptist Church.
Also surviving are four daughters, Johnny (and spouse Randy) Laughlin, Susan (and spouse Carlos) Bueno and Sara (and spouse Luis) Bueno, all of Warsaw, and Cindy (and spouse Tim) Lindsey, Rochester; a son, Bill (and spouse Sherry) Compton Jr., Warsaw; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five sisters: Donna (and spouse Henry) Jarvis and Ida Justice, both of Prestonsburg; Ellen Taylor, Hunter, Ky.; Ethel (and spouse Woody) Caudill, Paintsville, Ky.; and Sarah (and spouse Everett) Compton, Claypool; and a brother, Andy (and spouse Emma) Shepherd Jr., Prestonsburg. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Elizabeth Compton; a brother, John Henry Shepherd; and a sister, Delila Shepherd.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with the Rev. Bob Haywood of Harvest Time Ministry Church, Warsaw, officiating.
Calling is from noon today to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at her residence, 206 Boys City Drive, Winona Lake.
