Noble Leon Rohrer

Noble Leon Rohrer, everyone knew him simply as Leon, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at his residence in the Claypool district at the age of 81.

He was born Jan. 22, 1937, in Kosciusko County, to Noble Ralph Rohrer and Al Myra C. Scott Rohrer.  On March 30, 1986, he was married to Susan Darlene Banter, who survives.

Leon was a lifetime area resident of Kosciusko County and was a 1955 graduate of Burket High School.  

He was never afraid of a hard day’s work. He kept busy as a dairy farmer, as well as working in the maintenance department of Grace Village Retirement Community of Winona Lake, Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center of Warsaw, and Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw.  

He was a member of Kemrad police auxiliary, and the Christian Motorcycle Association (CMA).  

He will be dearly missed by countless friends, but most of all he will be forever loved by his family.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 32 years, Susan Darlene Rohrer, Claypool; two sons, Michael (Lily) Rohrer, Rochester, and Jeffrey (Melanie) Rohrer, Claypool; two stepsons, Wesley (Mary Kittrell) Gearheart, Warsaw, and Dustin Gearheart, Warsaw; a sister, Linda (Dave) Lock, Fort Wayne; his first wife, Lois Karen McCourt, Claypool; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Rita Sabo; one sister, Janice Method; one brother, Larry;  and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.

His funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at Pathway Church, 2402 Old U.S. 30 West, Warsaw, officiated by the Rev. Michael Rohrer. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Graceland Cemetery, Claypool.
