Nisly Has The Right Priorities

In case anyone has not noticed, it’s election season again, and we will be going to the polls to decide who will be our next representatives.

Of course the national races are important, but as former Congressman Tip O’Neill accurately pointed out in the title of his book, “All Politics Is Local,” the state and local races are just as important as the national races. While he is unopposed, I feel strongly to write about my support for Curt Nisly for state representative.

What is so special about Curt is that he has gone to Indianapolis for four years and constantly voted to restrain government overreach. Whether it’s on taxes or spending, Curt Nisly knows that the money we make is ours, and government does not need to take more. If government needs money, Curt knows that they should cut other less important spending, to pay for more important spending.

Many in Indianapolis think the taxpayers are a giant bank that they can constantly rob to get what they want. Yet Curt reminds them that the government works for us, not against us.

But the most important thing is that Curt Nisly is still the same humble public servant, even when the Indianapolis establishment refuses to acknowledge him.

President Ronald Reagan kept a sign on his desk in the Oval Office which read, “There is no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he does not mind who gets the credit.” To me, that describes Curt Nisly fairly accurately. Representative Nisly listens to his constituents first and represents us without being a glory seeker down at the Statehouse. He knows that as, Judge Andrew Napolitano has asked, “Does the government work for us, or do we work for the government?” Curt Nisly knows the answer to that question.

Even though he is unopposed, I will gladly be casting my vote for state representative for Curt Nisly. I hope everyone else in District 22 does the same thing.
