WABASH – Neppisee Lena "Neppi" Harman, 92, of Celina, Ohio, died at 10:05 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Celina Manor in Celina.
She was born June 5, 1926, in Wabash, to Norman Rhoads and Hazel Kumley Gray. Neppi was a 1944 graduate of Wabash High School, and attended Frankfort Pilgrim College in Frankfort.
She first married Ernest Birt; he died in 1964. Her second marriage was to Benjamin Shaner; he died Sept. 2, 1986. She then married Ronald Harman; he died March 12, 1999.
Neppi retired from Fort Recovery Industries. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, raising flower and doing crafts. She lived in Wabash, Ohio, many years; in Silver Lake; and also lived several years in Ocala, Fla.
She is survived by two children, Rebecca Birt Hart of Celina and Mark (Bobbie) Birt of Spencerville, Ohio; five grandchildren: Dominica Hart of Indianapolis; Ashley (Kevin) Wagnild of Russia, Ohio; Lauren Hart of Celina; Cassandra Birt of Mooresville; and Gabriel Birt of Celina; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, George (Peggy) Rhoads of Wabash, Ind.; three half brothers: Norman Rhoads, Dennis Rhoads and Darwin Rhoads; and a half sister, Martha Guerra.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Daniel and Timothy Birt; one son-in-law, James Hart; four brothers; one sister; two half brothers; and three half sisters.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Claypool.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
