More On Wife

Editor, Times-Union:
I was recently forced, due to my wife’s deteriorating health, as well as my own, to return to Indiana, residing with my sister, her husband and my mom. This is an incredible hardship, because I love my wife, and was forced by circumstances to leave her behind in Lancaster, Pa., in the confines of both a hospital and nursing home alternately.
We just observed our 25th anniversary in December; her first marriage, my third. She and her mother had been the one true family I had known for many years. I have loved and adored my wife since the day I received her first letter in the mail, after finding her name and address in a magazine many years ago.
Being back here without her truly hurts, but we are working on a plan, of sorts, to get her here if, or when, the finances are made possible. I honestly wish this whole incident never happened, but diabetes, and other health altering illnesses have no mercy upon the human body, nor the soul.
I have truly loved this sweet, dear woman for well over 25 to 30 years. Moving here, I lost all of her belongings, the many love letters we wrote to each other, and time we still want and need together. Whatever the future holds, I just want this all resolved as quickly as possible.
