Posted
A man who pleaded guilty to a child molestation charge will wait a little longer for his sentencing.
Cesar Bustamante’s sentencing hearing was rescheduled for Dec.?1 from Thursday in Kosciusko County Superior Court I.
Bustamante, 23, Goshen, also known as Cesar Murillo, was originally charged with child molestation, a Class B felony. Bustamante pleaded guilty to a Class C felony of child molestation in June.
The case was moved to Dec. 1 after Bustamante’s lawyer requested to move the court date.
The charges stem from a case in 2014 when the mother of a Kosciusko County  girl, who was 13 at the time, took out a restraining order against Bustamante.
According to court documents, the mother took out a protection order May 27, 2014, forbidding Bustamante to come in contact with her or her daughter.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, the mother noticed that Bustamante contacted her daughter on Facebook.
On Sept. 22, 2014, the daughter left a note with her mother saying she was leaving town and headed to Mexico, the affidavit states. An aunt of the girl obtained information that Bustamante and the girl were in the Green Bay,?Wis.. area.
Acting on the information, the Kosciusko?County Sheriff’s Department contacted law enforcement in Wisconin.
The Outagamie Sheriff’s Department found Bustamante with the girl in the a motel room, the affidavit states. The girl informed the police that she had a sexual relationship with Bustamante, the affidavit states.
Bustamante was arrested in June 2015. He is currently out on bond.
A Class C felony carries a potential penalty of two to eight years in a prison and a $10,000 fine.
