Mildred Teeple Meadows, 91, of Winona Lake, passed away at 7:50 a.m. Feb. 21, 2013, in Grace Village Healthcare Center, Winona Lake. She was born Feb. 21, 1922, in Chicago, Ill., to Fred Earl and Leora Martin Stookey. In 1943, she married John Teeple, who died in 1986. In 1991, she then married Hilliard Meadows, who died in 1995. Living most of her life in Kosciusko County, she was a registered nurse at McDonald Hospital, Alfran Nursing Home and Mason Health & Rehab, Warsaw. After graduation from high school, she graduated from Methodist Nurses School, Fort Wayne. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church, Oswego, and a member of Melloaires and Widowed to Widowed. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time at the Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed playing piano at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw, and Grace Village Healthcare Center, Winona Lake, for many years. Surviving are a stepson, Gary Meadows, Winona Lake; four stepdaughters: Sandra Meadows, Burket; Kay Slone and Terrie Hall, both of Pierceton; and Helen Streets, Elyria, Ohio; two brothers, John Stookey, Florida, and Martin Stookey, Warsaw; a sister, Oma Eppley, Nappanee; two daughters-in-law, Ann Teeple DeLong and Penny Teeple; eight grandchildren: Lisa, Darrin and David Teeple; Krista (and spouse Kevin) Atkins; Angie (and spouse Robert) Dawson; Charlene Tillman; and Bobbi Lynn and Tony Sexton; and several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Robert and Ed Teeple; a brother, Robert Stookey; a grandson, John Edward Teeple; and a great-grandson, Logan Greene. Service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church, Oswego, with Pastor Kirk Barger officiating. Burial will be in Oswego Cemetery.
