Mary Lou Prater, 76, of Winona Lake, passed away at 3 p.m. May 4, 2013, in her residence.
She was born July 15, 1936, in Decatur, to Herbert “Pete” and Cladie Ramsey Irwin. On Feb. 29, 2012, in Warsaw, she married George Prater, who survives.
A resident of Warsaw and Winona Lake for 34 years, she was a waitress for Humpty Dumpty, Digs and B-macs, all in Warsaw. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Decatur, and Moose Lodge, Warsaw. She enjoyed golfing, fishing, motorcycling, white water rafting and dancing.
Also surviving are three sons: Greg Everett (and companion Debora Hodapp), Akeley Minn.; Ken (and spouse Megan) Everett, Alabama; and Eric Everett, Decatur; a daughter, Candy (and spouse Doug) Singleton, Decatur; a sister, Betty (and spouse William) Crone, Decatur; three brothers, Harold (and spouse Ilo) Irwin, Tim (and spouse Sally) Irwin and Ronald “Joe” (and spouse Debbie) Irwin, all of Decatur; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and Kenneth Everett, Decatur, father of her children. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
Service will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor William Whitaker of Warsaw Family Worship Center. There will be no burial.
Calling is from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
