NAPPANEE - Mary Jane Kuhns, 54, of 71044 CR 11, Nappanee, died at 6:40 p.m. March 30, 2008, in Alvin Hershberger's residence, after a one month illness.
She was born Jan. 15, 1954, in Nappanee, to Daniel M. and Iona Helmuth Kuhns.
She was a member of Old Order Amish Church.
Surviving are three brothers: Alvin (and spouse Donna) Kuhns, Cottonwood, Ariz.; Lotus (and spouse Loretta) Kuhns, Goshen; and Otis (and spouse Alma) Kuhns, Nappanee; six sisters: Sadie (and spouse Enos R.) Miller, Topeka; Esther (and spouse Alvin E.) Hershberger, Martha (and spouse Wayne W.) Miller, Katie Ann (and spouse Roman E.) Harshberger and Ruby (and spouse Daniel Jr.) Fry, all of Nappanee; and Betty (and spouse Amos A.) Borkholder, New Paris; three stepbrothers, Marvin (and Mary Esther) Borkholder, Colon, Mich., and Kenneth (and spouse Carol Ann) Borkholder and LeRoy (and spouse Clara) Borkholder, both of Burr Oak, Mich.; and four stepsisters: Martha (and spouse Jacob) Schwartz, Sturgis, Mich.; Alice Danna Borkholder, Burr Oak; Mary (and spouse Herbert L.) Miller, Wakarusa; and Ruby Jane (and spouse Delbert R.) Slabaugh, Shipshewana. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, and two stepsisters.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the William Hochstetler resident, 29416 CR 52, with Bishop Eli Lehman officiating, assisted by Home Ministry. Burial will be in Weldy Cemetery.
Calling is after 2 p.m. today and all day Tuesday at the Ronam Harshberger residence, 71472 CR 11.
