SYRACUSE – Mary H. “Helen” Grisamer, 86, Milford, formerly of Syracuse, passed away at 6 a.m. June 13, 2014, at Lakeland Healthcare and Rehab, Milford. She was born Sept. 17, 1927, in South Bend, to Ignatz Peter and Jessie Josephine Ward Bogol. On June 13, 1953, she married Richard E. “Dick” Grisamer, who preceded her in death Aug. 20, 2002. She graduated in 1945 from Central High School, South Bend, and she moved to Syracuse in 1973 from Michigan and then to Milford in 2011. She was a homemaker, and was formerly employed at Studebaker Corp., South Bend, for several years and Laketronics Inc., Syracuse, for 10 years. She was a lifetime member of both VFW Auxiliary Post 1342 and American Legion Auxiliary Post 223, Syracuse. Surviving are four daughters: Becky (and spouse Stan) Richardson, Paula (and spouse Tony) Newman, Randi (and spouse Tony) Siri and Linda (and spouse Marshall) Minnick, all of Syracuse; nine grandchildren: Katie and Annie Richardson, Sarah Beachy, Rachel (and spouse Adam) Schaaf, Emily (and spouse Jason) Worrell, Sydney (and spouse Chris) Webb, Ruby Minnick, Michael (and spouse Ashley) and Mattison Siri; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty McCormick, North Liberty; and a brother, Robert (and spouse Carol) Bogol, Mishawaka. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Andrew Richardson. Private family graveside services will take place in the McClintic Cemetery, Syracuse, with Pastor Tim Bushong officiating.
