NORTH MANCHESTER - Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Woomer, 91, of North Manchester, died at 11 a.m. July 28, 2010, in Wabash County Hospital.
She was born July 10, 1919, in Expedit, Pa., to Alonzo L. and Emma B. Marsh Danvir. On Nov. 17, 1947, she married Arch Mahlon Woomer, who died Aug. 10, 2003.
She was a homemaker and during World War II she worked at Sylvania Co., Altoona, Pa. She was a member of Congregational Christian Church and Ivy Chapter 69 Order of the Eastern Star, both in North Manchester, and Daughters of the Nile, Altoona, Pa. She was a 1937 graduate of Blacklick Township High School, Cambria County, Pa.
Surviving are a son, Gary M. (and spouse Sue) Woomer, Downington, Pa.; a daughter, Kathy (and spouse Roger) Prater, North Manchester; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 6 at Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Bald Eagle (Pa.) Cemetery.
Calling is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church.
