INDIANAPOLIS - Marian Wilcox Dalton died recently.
She was born Aug. 14, 1921. She lost both of her parents as a very young child and she and her brother, Howard, were raised by her grandmother, Anna Warbinton.
She graduated from Short Ridge High School, Indianapolis, and attended Butler University, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. In 1967, she was president of the Area Health Facilities Planning Council. She also served as vice chair for the Republican Party of Warsaw. While she was born in Indianapolis and lived many years in Evanston, Ill.; Stillwater, Okla.; and Newport Beach, Calif., she always considered Warsaw to be home.
Surviving are three children: Jim Dalton, Brad (and spouse Leslie) Dalton and Kay (and spouse Randy) Simpkins; five grandchildren, Carolyn Dalton, Alexandra (and spouse Brian) Paschal, Taylor Simpkins, Ryan Simpkins and Cody (and spouse Melissa) Simpkins; and three great-grandchildren, John Richard, Anne Dalton Paschal and Oliver West Simpkins. She was preceded in death by a brother, Howard S. Wilcox.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 30 at Crown Hill Cemetery Peace Chapel, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis. Graveside services will follow.
