Manchester Spring Sports Awards PresentedNORTH MANCHESTER – Spring sports athletes at Manchester High School were recognized for their achievements by the athletic department on Wednesday.
David McAtee was the Rotary Mental Attitude award winner in baseball, and the Squire Award was presented to Kane Gable. Hayes Sturtsman received awards for the best batting average and lowest earned run average, and McAtee drove in the most runs. On the junior varsity team, Sam Martindale had the best batting average and Kyle Shepherd had the lowest ERA.
Sydney Day won the softball team’s mental attitude award and Brooklyn Howard was the Squire Award and defensive player of the year winner. Emma West was offensive player of the year and Kiera Stacy was chosen the most valuable player.
Kendra Auler was the mental attitude award winner on the girls tennis team, and Karly Eichenauer was the Squire Award winner. Lydia Little was the team player and winner award, and Lauren Metzger was most improved. Kelsey Eichenauer won the Heart and Spirit award.
Junior varsity players Cora Barnett won the Heart and Spirit award and Rebekah Pyle was most improved.
Harley Kruschwitz was the mental attitude award winner for boys golf, and the Squire award went to Nathan Self. Klayton Hendrix won the Desire and Dedication Award, with Dylan Brubaker and Konrad Borgmann voted most improved.
Ben Reichenbach was the boys track mental attitude award winner and Remington Trick was the Squire Award winner. The most valuable player was Isaiah Davis, and Brodie Fratus was most improved. The Coaches Appreciation award went to Heath Dierks, and Trey Clark won the promising newcomer award. The Heather A. Medley “Gotta Have Heart Award” went to Tyler Andritch.
Bailey Sewell was the girls track mental attitude award winner, and Tahnee Fuentes won the Squire Award. Rae Bedke was voted the most valuable player, and Mikayla Genovese was most improved. The Coaches Appreciation award went to Kennedy Rosen, and Gabby Brewer was chosen the promising newcomer. The Heather A. Medley “Gotta Have Heart” award went to Kara Kline.
Karly Eichenauer and Gable were Scholar Athletes of the Year. McAtee won the Dick Miller Outstanding Male Athlete award, and Bedke the Grace Kester Outstanding Female Athlete award.
