Manchester Soccer Sweeps South AdamsNORTH MANCHESTER – Both the Manchester boys and girls soccer teams closed out regular season play Saturday with non-conference home wins over South Adams. The Squire boys won 5-0 while the Lady Squires earned a 2-1 victory.

Caleb Stout and Nathan Self had a pair of first-half goals each, and Noah Beck had a goal before halftime for Manchester.

Stout, Brandon Wagoner, Noah Beck and Eric Morales had assists in the match for the Squires. Manchester finished its regular season with a 12-3-1 record and will open play in the 2A Maconaquah Sectional against the host Braves around 7:30 p.m. today.

In the Lady Squires’ victory, Ranissa Shambarger scored the first goal of the game off of an assist by Lainey Shock. Julie Dalsager followed with the second goal. Kiera Stacy had six saves in the match.

The Manchester girls take an 11-4-1 record into the 1A Fort Wayne Blackhawk Sectional, where it will have a rematch with the Lady Starfires around 7 p.m. Tuesday.
