A man who choked a woman and threatened to kill her will serve two years in prison. Jeremy Lee Summers, 39, of 720 W. Center St., Warsaw, pleaded guilty Oct. 24 to strangulation and domestic battery in Kosciusko County Superior Court I. Judge David Cates Thursday sentenced Summers to two years in the Indiana Department of Corrections. On Aug. 24, Summers forbade the victim from leaving her room after becoming angry with her. He choked her and said, “How does it feel to breathe your last breath?” according to court records. The victim told police that Summers had continually battered her that night. Police responded to the house after the woman escaped and called the police. Summers fled the scene, but later called the police and told them he wanted to kill himself and felt bad for injuring the victim. Summers will serve six months of probation after he gets out of prison. He will get 85 days credit for time served.
