NORTH MANCHESTER – Mamie A. Keim, 81, Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester, died at 4:40 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at the healthcare center. She was born, Jan. 12, 1930, in Cass County, to John J. and Rachel Hynes Smith. On June 10, 1951, she married John H. Keim, who died Dec. 17, 1998. She was a member of First Brethren Church, North Manchester, where she served as organist for many years. She was a teacher and counselor for 40 years, 30 of those years with Manchester Community Schools, retiring in 1995. She received a bachelor’s degree from Manchester College in 1951 and a master’s in education degree from Indiana University in 1965. She was a member of National Education Association, Indiana Retired Teachers, the ISTA and the MTA. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor Ron Burns assisted by Rev. Kurt Stout officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
