MILFORD – Luselva “Lucy” Saavedra, 35, of Milford, died Feb. 27, 2012.
She was born March 1, 1976, in Brownsville, Texas, to Santos and Esperanza Delafuente Leal.
She was a loving and caring person. She was always willing to help out when needed, no matter what. She was the strongest person ever, always overcoming life’s difficult challenges. She always had a smile on her face and was fun to hang out with. She loved her family and cherished her two daughters. She graduated from Wawasee High School in 1995 and worked at Applied Thermal Technologies, Warsaw. She faithfully attended church every Sunday at St. John’s Catholic Church, Goshen, and now is at peace in God’s care. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
Surviving are two daughters, Jacky and Melody Saavedra, both of Milford; her parents, Santos and Esperanza, Mexico; three brothers: Juan (and spouse Roxanne) Leal, Milford; Santos (and spouse Guadalupe) Leal, Wisconsin; and Daniel (and spouse Brisa) Leal, Mexico; two sisters, Maria (and spouse Robert) Delafuente and Maribel Guerra, all of Milford; and several nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John Catholic Church, Goshen, with Father Fernando officiating. Burial will be in Mexico.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford, and hour prior to the service Friday at the church. There will be a prayer vigil at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
