LOGANSPORT – Luella Mae Emery, 82, of Macy, died at 1:41 a.m. Jan. 10, 2012, in Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.
She was born July 22, 1929, in Fulton County, to Virgil Lyman and Fleetie Crippen King. On Jan. 2, 1949, in Fulton County, she married Doyne F. Emery, who survives.
She was a homemaker and a 1947 graduate of Fulton High School. She was a member of Fulton Baptist Temple, where her faith was evident through her work with AWANA, prayer groups, choir and other church activities. She enjoyed singing, gardening, sewing and cooking. She especially enjoyed making cakes for weddings, anniversaries and all other special occasions. Her most requested cake was red velvet. Her favorite pastimes were supporting her grandchildren in their sporting events and 4-H activities and spending time with her family.
Also surviving are two sons, David (and spouse Donna) Emery, Macy, and Douglas (and spouse Patricia) Emery, Lafayette; two daughters, Julie Bailey, Macy, and Fleetie Jane (and spouse Jeff) Shriver, Rochester; seven grandchildren: Tara (and spouse Bob) Sarver, Holland, Mich.; Tristan (and spouse Travis) Kirby, Lafayette; Morgan (and spouse Kyle) Munson, Rushville; Kyle Emery (and fiance Rachel), Twelve Mile; and Stephanie, Benjamin and Shayleigh Shriver, all of Rochester; a great-grandson, Jackson Sarver, Holland; a brother, Lyman (and spouse Helen) King, Rochester; and sister-in-law, Maxine Scutt, Coldwater, Mich. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Stephen Doyne Shriver, and two sisters, Anna Hartman and Alice Friedrich.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fulton Baptist Temple with Pastor Bruce Russell officiating. Burial will be in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Cass County.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
