Lucile Elizabeth Worboys Bruce, 90, Englewood, Colo., passed away at 8:35 a.m. May 3, 2014, at her residence. She was born Nov. 9, 1923, in North Chili, N.Y., to Wilbur George and Clara Elizabeth Harmon Worboys. On Oct. 9, 1943, in Buffalo, N.Y., she married William Benjamin Bruce, who preceded her in death. Through the years, she lived in various places, including New York, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Georgia and Colorado. She was employed and involved as an administrative assistant with Free Methodist Headquarters when it was in Winona Lake. She spent many years as a pastor’s wife and loved entertaining. She gave much of her time devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. She always loved singing in her church choirs. Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca (and spouse David) Smith, Marietta, Ga.; a son, Craig (and spouse Beth) Bruce, Peru; 11 grandchildren, all of Indiana; 14 great-grandchildren, all of Indiana; and one great-great-grandchild, Indiana; one granddaughter, Stephanie (and spouse Chuck) Oppenlander, Littleton, Colo.; three great-grandchildren, Sophia, Keelan and Eisley Oppenlander, Littleton; one grandson, Chris Hogue, Boulder, Colo. She was preceded in death by one grandson and one great-granddaughter. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with the Rev. John Van Valin officiating.
