Lowell E. Mikel, 87, of Nappanee, died at 12:40 a.m., Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart, where he had been admitted Friday.
He was born March 11, 1931, on the family farm in Kosciusko County to Merl and Mary (Klotz) Mikel.
On May 1, 1955, he married Evelyn Perry at the Wakarusa Missionary Church. She preceded him in death February 6, 2014.
Mr. Mikel was a veteran of the United States Army.
Calling will be from 2-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and one hour prior to the funeral service at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 11 at Nappanee Missionary Church. Pastor Norm Reimer will officiate. Burial will be in Hepton Union Cemetery, Nappanee, with military graveside services by Nappanee American Legion.
