Louis Lee Van Doren, 69, of Rochester, died at 12:42 a.m. Dec. 28, 2012, in his residence. He was born Dec. 26, 1943, in Kosciusko County, to Billie and Patricia Rohler Van Doren. On July 3, 1962, in Warsaw, he married Frances Kirkendall, who survives in Rochester. Living most of his life in Kosciusko County, he was a graduate of Warsaw High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the beginning of the Vietnam War. He moved to Harlinger, Texas, for 12 years until returning to Indiana in 2006. He was self-contracted in mail delivery for various branches of the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in the early 1980s. He also worked for Transpo Senior Bus Service, Rochester, and the Confederate Air Force, Harlinger. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and Eagles Lodge, both in Rochester, and HAM Radio Club and The Good Sam Club, both in Warsaw. Also surviving are a sister, Susan (and spouse Wayne) Fretz, Warsaw. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Burial will be at a later date.
