Editor, Times-Union: My friend was killed Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. on CR 1000W between Akron and Mentone. He was armed with an orange hunting collar. The person or people who did this did not try to stop this killing. Their weapon of choice was an SUV. Not even someone standing in the road trying to stop this from happening made a difference, and with no regrets did they stop after the killing to see about my friend or to pick up the pieces of the SUV weapon scattered on the road. My friend was buried Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. He had to be put in a plastic container because my son and I did pick up the pieces of him off the road. Max was a friend to all. He was most happy retrieving his ball. A reward is offered so Max knows who killed him. My friend Max was my 7-year-old black lab. Mark and Brad Brubaker Claypool
