Lois June Garber, 92, Warsaw, passed away at 12:05 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.

She was born June 18, 1926, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Albert and Elsie Everett Porter. On Oct. 6, 1945, she was united in marriage to Harold A. “Bud” Garber in Fort Smith, Ark.

She has been a resident of Warsaw since 1945. During her life she worked as a seamstress, homemaker and even made bombs for World War II in Kingsbury.

She was a member of First Brethren Church, Warsaw, as well as the Kosciusko County Home Extension Club. In addition, she was an avid gardener, enjoyed sewing, making doll clothes and was known as “Mrs. Sew & Sew.” She loved cooking, candy making, woodworking and making doll houses, but she especially loved her family dearly.

She is survived by her daughters: Judy (spouse Gary) Lemons, Fort Wayne; Janet (spouse Terry) Hygema, Citrus Springs, Fla.; Doris (spouse Darmon) Bush, Warsaw; and Penny (spouse Rob) Adams, Warsaw; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Bud; one brother; one sister; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 10, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel. Larry J. Weirick will officiate the funeral service. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
