Lock Outs

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:

On Oct. 13, 2010, I paid a visit to the Mayor's office on East Market Street. I was told by his secretary that he was on a conference call and could not be disturbed.

I wanted to discuss the problem regarding lock-outs with him. When you call central dispatch, you are told that the county police no longer do lock-outs because of liability problems. Plymouth has recently discontinued this service for the exact same reason.

The mayor's secretary advised me that she would have either the mayor or chief of police call me regarding this matter. The call was not returned by either of them.

Since I am a property owner, a tax payer and a voter in this community, I believe that I deserved a response of some kind. I know the people that we elect into office are busy people, but I'm sure they can take a few minutes out of their busy schedule to call me on the phone, or even send a response via the mayor's secretary.
