Six local water skiers competed in the Midwest Regional Water Ski Championships last weekend in Center City, Minn., with two of them winning individual championships in their age divisions in the slalom event. Julie Mishler, 9, of Camelot Lake near Milford, won the slalom title for the Girls One division with a record-breaking score of 73 buoys, and also won the trick skiing event. Coltin Bucher, 9, of Cindonway Shores near Milford, won the Boys One slalom title and took third place in the trick event. Alexis Mishler of Milford took fifth place in the Girls Two slalom event and also competed in the trick and jumping events. Don Bucher, Milford, competed in slalom tricks and jump, taking second place in the overall division in Mens Seven. Shane Bucher competed in Mens Three, taking sixth place. Wyatt Bucher also competed in slalom and tricks in the Boys One division. As a result of their performances, Julie and Alexis Mishler, and Coltin, Shane and Don Bucher will be competing in the AWSA National Water Ski Championships in San Marcos, Texas Aug. 9-12.
