Linda L. Shafer, 64, of 5300 S. Country Club Road, Warsaw, died at 1:34 p.m. March 20, 2009, in her residence.
She was born Nov. 16, 1944, in Warsaw, to Franklin "Frank" Otto and Bonnie Jean Blankenship Lyons. On Jan. 11, 1964, she married Benjamin "Ben" Robert Shafer, who survives in Warsaw.
She was a lifetime Kosciusko County resident. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Warsaw.
Also surviving are her father, Franklin Lyons, Argos; a son, Greg (and spouse Crystal) Shafer, Burket; three daughters: Bonnie Poe, Warsaw; Wonnie Shafer, Minot, N.D.; and Stephanie Shafer, Warsaw; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a half-sister, Anita (and spouse Vernon) Hartley, Noblesville; and three half-brothers: Dennis Lyons, Plymouth; Danny Kindle, Altoona, Pa.; and Dennis Hersch, Palestine. She was preceded in death by her mother.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Bishop Erik Davies officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
