Lilly Center Student Art Contest Winners Announced

Lilly Center Student Art Contest Winners AnnouncedOver 250 area students drew attention to Kosciusko County waterways by taking part in The Lilly Center for Lakes & Streams’ ninth annual art contest.
The theme this year for the contest was “Life at the Lake.” Students were encouraged to submit artwork depicting Kosciusko lakes and streams and the local native species that inhabit them. Fourth- through 12th-grade students from Kosciusko County public, private and homeschools were invited to enter.
Winners were announced Sunday afternoon at Central Park as the 2017 Northern Indiana Lakes Festival drew to a close. Cash prizes were given for first through sixth places in six grade categories: fourth and fifth grades, sixth and seventh grades, eighth and ninth grades, 10th grade, 11th grade and 12th grade.

• Fourth and fifth grades: Oceana Ball, first; Claire Harman, second; Lexi?Martinez, third; Ella Perkins, fourth; Olivia Castro, fifth; Bobby Burke, sixth; Lillian Chaney, Marissa Howett, Paisley Clark, Yessenia Benitez and Rylan Cooper, honorable mentions.
• Sixth and seventh grades: Alanza Valdez, first; Andrew Zink, second; Macy Wayne, third; Andrea Crider, fourth; Emily Harter, fifth; Kylie Goble, sixth; Saralee Hodge, Makena Smith and Braeden Stidham, honorable mentions.
• Eighth and ninth grades: Celeste Logan, first; Ryanne Ousley, second; Ella Kay Danner, third; Ella Beezley, fourth; Cheryce Wise, fifth; Hailey Elder, sixth; Megan Licata, Payge Kreis, Victoria Steinke and Kendra Love, honorable mentions.
