America has changed. Every event turns into a contest where we crown the winner and kick the loser on the backside. The media have already picked a side and try to influence the public. People knew the outcome of the shutdown.
For me, I can’t understand 800,000 federal employees that have a guaranteed income that doesn’t have a budget. Federal workers have several benefits that the general public doesn’t have. Federal workers have a pension, a better health program, and federal workers are almost impossible to fire; as an example, the VA (Veterans Administration).
Previous shutdowns, government workers always receive back pay even when they were absent from their job.
Finally, what are we teaching our youth, winning at all cost. This is not a basketball game, but life.
