Editor, Times-Union: Approximately 43,000 pounds of potatoes from Wisconsin will be given away at the Warsaw Marsh Supermarket parking lot this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. or until the supply is depleted. Twenty-one food agencies and other individuals and churches are invited to participate to help feed the hungry in the Kosciusko County area.
The potatoes are provided by the Society of St. Andrew and the Kosciusko 21st Century Foundation Inc. through a $2,500 grant to cover the bagging and transportation costs.
Due to rescheduling, volunteers are needed for two hours at 8 a.m. to unload the semi and load the drive through vehicles. Forklift equipment has been donated by Bobcat of Warsaw Inc.
The Society of St. Andrew has a vision of a world without hunger and salvages food to feed the hungry in this country who don't always know where their next meal is coming from - about half of them are children.
