As a parent of children at Leesburg Elementary School, I have seen the wonderful change that has occurred at Leesburg under the direction of Mr. Marino. It is reflected not just in test scores, but in positive attitude, pride, vision and the focus the majority of the teachers have on the education of every child. There has been true excitement and energy under Mr. Marino that was absent before.
I am writing to encourage the parents of Leesburg students to flood the board room on Monday. We need to show our support and demand accountability. Too many things have happened over the last year to indicate this was not just one incident. There was much more going.
Even though Mr. Marino has resigned (and understandably), we owe it to our school and to Mr. Marino to charge the board to seek out the truth. I know their eyes will be opened and their opinion of the current administration will be changed. Please, parents of Leesburg students, go to the board meeting on Monday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. We need our voices heard!
