A Leesburg man died this morning after police say he ramped a flower bed in a car and crashed into a tree. James Loser, 92, North Kalorama Road, died as emergency personnel were tending to him. Police believe Loser failed to negotiate a curve, hit five mailboxes, went airborne over a flowerbed and hit a tree. Police found the car after his daughter called to say her father had dementia and had taken off in a car toward Leesburg. Loser was alive when deputies first arrived, but was not “answering questions correctly,” according to police. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies handed the medical treatment over to the North Webster EMS as they investigated the scene. The cause of death was blunt force trauma, said Kosciusko County Coroner Tony Ciriello in a news release. Photo by Gary Nieter.
