LCA Inducts Two Into Hall Of FameWINONA LAKE — Lakeland Christian Academy held its 2012 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Saturday, inducting Ashley (Addair) Hollis and Eric Mikel
Hollis is a 2004 LCA graduate and helped lead the Lady Cougars to an ACSI state runner-up finish in volleyball.
Her athletic abilities showed even greater on the basketball court, where she was named to the Cougar Classic All-Star team in both her junior and senior seasons.
As a sophomore, Hollis was the leading scorer on a Lady Cougars’s team that captured an ACSI State Basketball Championship, scoring 24 points in the title game.
In her senior season, she once again led the LCA to a ACSI state basketball championship, leading all scorers with 23 points.
She capped off her LCA athletic career by being honored as the 2004 Female Senior Athlete of the Year.
Mikel is a 1995 LCA graduate and was a member of the 1995 ACSI State Championship soccer team.
That season the team advanced to become the ACSI Midwest Region Runners-Up.
Excelling on the soccer field as LCA's goalkeeper, he was named to the Northern Indiana Soccer Conference All-Conference Team in both his junior and Senior seasons, and was the starting goalkeeper the same two years as LCA captured the ACSI state soccer championship.
He completed his final soccer season being honored as an NACA (National Association of Christian Athletes) All-Star, leading the Indiana All-Star soccer team to an NACA National Tournament Championship.
Like Hollis, Mikel was honored as LCA's Senior Athlete of the Year.
He went on to play goalkeeper at Cornerstone University and for the Grand Rapids Explosion, a semi-professional soccer team.
