SYRACUSE - Lawrence Edward Rich, 83, of Milford, and formerly of Sebring, Fla., and Tippecanoe Lake, died Nov. 20, 2009, in Goshen Hospital.
He was born Sept. 30, 1926, in Anderson, to Jacob and Cecile Rich. On July 1, 1949, he married Helen M. Hastings, who died July 15, 1994, after 45 years of marriage.
He attended Indiana Business College, Anderson, and was an Internal Revenue agent. He was a U.S. Navy World War II and Korean War veteran and a member of the North Webster American Legion.
Surviving are two sons, Michael (and spouse Rondalea) Rich, Olathe, Kan., and Brian (and spouse Teresa) Rich, Cromwell; three daughters, Deborah (and spouse Jerry) Allen, Anderson, and Cynthia (and spouse Brent) Kaiser and Karen (and spouse Mike) Grady, all of Syracuse; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a companion, Helen Dean. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and Albert Rich.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, 7458 E. CR 1000N, Syracuse. Burial will be in North Webster Cemetery, Mock Addition.
