LIGONIER – Lavina Alderfer, 68, Cromwell, passed away Oct. 26, 2015. She was born July 31, 1947, to Lewis and Mildred Warren Bules. On Nov. 20, 1965, in Etna Green, she married Wayne Alderfer, who survives. She retired from Starcraft RV after 11 years of dedicated service. She was the president of the Cromwell Town Council, president of the Cromwell Historical Society, and involved with the children’s ministry at The Rock Church in Cromwell. She was a part of the business association, festival committee, Noble County Board Visitors Bureau and park board. Also surviving are four children: Lewis Alderfer, Eric Alderfer, Jeannette (and spouse Joe) Pinkerton, all of Cromwell, and Lynette Fritz, Flower Mound, Texas; eight grandchildren: Christian, Cayla, Eric Jr., Caleb, Cean, Corey, Dalton and Chelsea; four sisters: Donna (and spouse Larry) Brubaker, Kay Smith, Pam (and spouse Tom) Gibson and Rosemary (and spouse Roger) Kunkle. She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather, Owen Ecker. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, with Pastors Gary and Sarah Tuttle officiating. A private cremation committal will be at Legacy Cremation and Remembrance Center. Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to services Saturday.
