NAPPANEE - Laura Mae Kauffman Slabaugh, 58, of 7909 W. CR 750N, Etna Green, died at 11:07 p.m. Jan. 10, 2008, at Lakeland Healthcare, Milford.
She was born Jan. 2, 1950, in Kosciusko County, to Raymond and Edna Mae Mast Kauffman. On July 3, 1971, in Middlebury, she married Glen J. Slabaugh who survives.
She worked in food service at Family Fare Grocery, Nappanee. She was a member of Nappanee Missionary Church.
Also surviving are three sons: Gary (and spouse Angie) Slabaugh, Nappanee; Mark (and spouse Deborah) Slabaugh, Elkhart; and Eric Slabaugh, Etna Green; five grandchildren; five sisters: Ruby Barker, Goshen; Sue (and spouse Gilbert) Miller, Nappanee; Katie Wolowicz, Fort Wayne; Lovina (and spouse John) Stombaugh, Goshen; and Wilma Jean (and spouse Paul) Yoder, Colon, Mich.; and six brothers: Hank (and spouse Eunice) Kauffman, Wabash; Harvey (and spouse Virginia) Kauffman, Elkhart and Melvin (and spouse Martha) Kauffman, Leonidas, Mich.; Joseph (and spouse Lizzie) Kauffman, Holton, Mich.; Elmer (and spouse Kay) Kauffman, Shipshewana; and Edward (and spouse Naomi) Kauffman, Mendon, Mich.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Nappanee Missionary Church with Pastors Norm Reimer, Dave Engbrecht and Don Rohrer officiating. Burial will be at Stony Point Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church's chapel.
